INNER TUBES AREN'T NORMALLY SOMETHING TO GET EXCITED ABOUT. RUBBERS DECIDED TO CHANGE THAT. They're not claiming to reinvent the inner tube with technology, but they are bringing a novel approach to a classically commoditized product that all other companies treat as an afterthought. There are many other well-designed and aesthetically pleasing products in the bike industry, and they felt inner tubes deserved the same fate for a change. Having a fresh tube in our bag or jersey pocket has saved our asses (and reputation, let's be honest) WAY more often than clean underwear ever did.

When you take a traditional sized inner tube and put it in a larger tire, the rubber is forced to stretch beyond what it was originally designed for, making it thinner and more susceptible to punctures, pinches, and flats. Our Tubes are adequately sized to fit anything from 2.10" all the way to 2.40" and beyond. The next area where we thought we could really improve on is the valve. No matter how long you’ve been riding, you will have some point blown a tube at the valve through either installation or damaging it on the sharp valve hole in the rim. We decided to use our own full-length steel valve over the standard rubber valve that most innertubes use today. This steel valve is much stronger and more resilient to damage, and the threaded lockring included allows you to install and inflate the inner tube with way more ease and ensures that the valve is always fully seated and installed correctly. Oh yeah, did we add that we had a lot of fun with the packaging? I’m sure all the guitarists out there will get the name and be stoked to see these stacked up in their local shop.

SILCA has partnered with Vittoria to create the highest-quality, lowest-rolling-resistance, finest-riding inner tube, sized for modern clincher tire setups. Compared to standard butyl rubber bicycle inner tubes, latex tubes are considerably more elastic (10x elongation compared to 2-3x). More importantly, latex rubber has a significantly lower coefficient of damping, which means that when latex rubber is stretched or flexed, it returns to shape faster and with less energy loss. What does this mean for an inner tube? Latex inner tubes are generally 2-5 Watts (per tire) more efficient at 30mph than tubes made of other materials. They are harder to pinch-flat and offer superior ride quality, especially when combined with supple, low-rolling-resistance tires. This tube has been sized to fit tires measuring 24-30mm, which will equate to 23-28mm tires used on modern wider rims. Valve stem length is 42mm and will work in all modern disc wheels. - Optimized for tires measuring: 24-30MM (Tires marked 22-28mm when used on wide rims, or tires marked 24-30mm used on older narrow rims) - Premium Latex - 42mm Aluminum alloy valve, 10 grams lighter than Brass alloy valves, and works in all modern disc wheels - Removable Presta valve core - 78 grams
