Its enormous strength results from the hydraulic transmission of the 9mm pump piston to four 16/17mm caliper pistons and the exceptionally high mechanical transmission ratio created by the lever. The exceptionally high mechanical transmission ratio due to the lever geometry minimizes the finger force required even on the steepest chutes. The 7075 aluminum CNC-milled brake calipers with optimized steel yoke bolts ensure high caliper stiffness. In combination with the Goodridge steel hoses installed, this results in the enormous rigidity of the overall system, which keeps the power in check. The Spyre is a mechanical disc brake that offers superior performance with incredibly easy setup. This is a dual-piston-actuated mechanical disc brake caliper that provides precise clamping force. This translates into even pad and rotor wear, because the rotor does not need to flex to one side during braking. We added a simple cable barrel adjuster to make fine-tuning easy. All of this in an incredibly thin 40mm, 146g package that works with any drop bar levers on the market. Rotors and adapters are sold separately.
