Radio Griffin 26" (AM or PRO) - 2015

The Griffin 26" by Radio is a dirt jumping bike. This type of bike is designed to (as the name suggests) jump and therefore tends to be lighter to help with takeoff, and sturdier to help with the landing. The 26 inch wheels are a bit larger than most BMX wheels. The larger wheels are normally used by larger riders who feel too cramped on the standard 20" wheels.

The Radio Griffin PRO 26" is a very nicely spec'd DJ bike. Full cromoly, double-gusseted frame, and a RockShox Argyle R offering 100mm of travel via a front thru-axle setup. The bike has Avid Elixir 1 brakes front and rear and Radio and Salt provide most of the remaining parts, including a tubular 3pc cromoly crank. The dominant frame and fork color is white, but you should note the catchy raw fade effect used toward the rear. Frantic Radio and Griffin accents finish out the gold-accented build. It's 29.96 pounds without that front brake and lever attached.

The Radio Griffin AM Bike is the slightly more affordable younger brother of the PRO model, but it's just as eager to find dirt jumps to launch from. And it can take it. The trimoly double-gusseted DJ frame holds onto a 100mm travel RST Dirt T fork, and Radio's Expert DJ wheels hold to the ground when you're not up in the air. Geometry-wise this is essentially the same feel as the PRO, and some of the parts spec matches. This is a roomy, tough, air-oriented ride, at a great price.
